Religions for Peace introduced the Abd el-Kader Education Project to leaders in Indonesia and Nigeria who plan to organize an advanced graduate seminar using John Kiser’s books Commander of the Faithful…The Life and Times of Emir Abd el-Kader and The Monks of Tibhirine. The seminars will be taught by a Muslim and Christian professor. Prizes will be awarded for the best Christian and the best Muslim essays that incorporate insights from both books. Based on the assessment of these books for promoting better Christian-Muslim understanding, they may be translated into the local languages.
