Abdelkader Education Project Forum Saturday, May 4th 2013 at 2:00 PM Historic Elkader Opera House in Elkader, Iowa

We are pleased to announce the 5th Annual 2013 AEP Forum. Here, we will honor the 2013 winning Abdelkader Global Leadership Prize Essay students (high school and college) and will feature international speakers and cultural enrichment with time for networking and discussions. The AEP Forum is free and open to the public – anyone is welcome! This year’s forum will feature a number of American, European, and North African dignitaries who will discuss Abd el-Kader’s legacy of internationalism, diplomacy, and their own work in this regard. Come and enjoy some light snacks, smooth jazz, andmeet with local Iowan students, nationally-acclaimed writers, diplomats, artists, filmmakers, and community activists from across the world.
Distinguished speakers: Ambassador Abdallah Baali, Algerian Embassy, Washington D.C. Ali Jazairy, Head of Innovation and Technology Section at the Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland Fouad Chergui, radio show host and the Chairman of CLAP Association in Lyon, France Ahmed Moustafa, international artist, London “Art, Ethics, and Emir Abdelkader” John W. Kiser, author of “The Life and Times of Emir Abdelkader” and “The Monks of Tibhirine”

  • Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. for a “meet and greet” for our guests with concessions and live music by the River Connections Jazz Band.
  • Program begins at 2:00 p.m. with the awards ceremony, guest speakers, and a round-table discussion.
  • 3:30- 4:00 Reception and discussion will follow with refreshments on the stage
