Foundations of a Civil Society
A rich assortment of resources and activities, designed by Iowa educators, on Abdelkader-related themes.
Foundations of a Civil Society is a collection of resources and activities built upon the CLOSE technique of reading or viewing. (The CLOSE technique is defined and explained on p. 2 of the unit.) Working individually or in small groups, students select the readings and videos they wish to examine from extensive “playlists” of resources. Discussion questions and suggestions for taking informed action are included.
